TechNiche TECHKEWL Phase Change Cooling Wheel Chair COOL PAX Inserts are a safe alternative to ice packs and superior in many ways. Ice packs are often too cold to be next to skin and can cause frostbite and vasoconstriction. The COOL PAX will maintain a constant 14 C (58 F) for up to 3 hours and do not rely on evaporative cooling to perform. Activation is accomplished by placing the COOL PAX into a fridge, freezer, ice water or in any environment below 14 C (58 F) for 25-30 minutes. The inserts will turn white when they are recharged. Cooling the legs, buttocks and back simultaneously requires two (2) pads with two (2) inserts per pad.
