TechNiche TECHKEWL Phase Change Cooling Back Wrap is a safe alternative to an ice pack. Ice packs are often too cold to be next to skin and can cause frostbite and vasoconstriction. Placing a barrier between the skin and ice pack reduces effectiveness. The Back Wrap will maintain a constant 14 C (58 F) for up to 3 hours and does not rely on evaporative cooling to function. Activation is accomplished by placing the Universal Pad into a fridge, freezer, ice water or in any environment below 14 C (58 F) for 25-30 minutes. The Pads will turn white from clear when they are recharged. The Back Wrap is great for targeted cooling of the back with a comfortably cold pad.
